To test the spark

  • Check that the brass valve on the back of the torch is turned on to allow the gas through. You should hear the gas coming through when pressing the red ignitor. Try to ignite the firepower torch by pressing the red button.
  • If it does not ignite the gas then:
  • Remove the gas bottle and press thered ignitor a few more time with the gas bottle disattached, to expel all the excess gas inside the torch.
  • Unscrew the tip and look inside the torch as you press the ignitor.
  • You should see a blue flash of the spark of the ignitor.
  • The spark should flash across to the inner wall of the gas pipe.
  • If it doesn't you can move the spring on the inside of the tube that holds the ignitor up or down slightly to see if this helps with the spark flash to flash across to the inner wall.
  • We have attached two clips of what it does when it is faulty and when it is working correctly.
